Water Lettuce on Lake Onalaska: Saturday Oct 24, 5 plants Date: 10/25/2015 09:10 AM From: Fritz To: Participating Natural Resource Agencies and Volunteers Effort Reported for Saturday October 24 ------------------------------------------------------ Karen Schultz found three plants in the upper Brice Prairie channel near their house (not far from tubes)...all were small but looked to be in very good shape. I searched around the east end of the Brice Prairie barrier island, finding two water lettuce plants (map attached). The rainfall sunk the leaves that had been floating on top of the vegetation maps, much improving visibility. Truncated the search to the eastward because of rafts of waterfowl, but they were soon disturbed by other boats and cleared out for the rest of the day. Winds are back to light and onshore, so not much risk for distribution across the lake. Keep looking! One of these days we will find NO more plants! --Fritz Attachments: Saturday.jpg 33.7 KB
