Water Lettuce on Lake Onalaska: Tuesday Oct 27, NO plants! Date: 10/28/2015 08:52 AM From: Fritz To: Participating Natural Resource Agencies and Volunteers No invasive plants found in Tuesday's afternoon's survey! Light conditions were not good for detection, but that was the first day I have found no plants in 3 weeks of surveying. Have not heard from others' efforts for Tuesday. Please keep looking! I'm sure there are still water lettuce plants around, especially in the upper Brice Prairie channel near the source, but I think we have been able to contain the risk of additional plants escaping downwind/downstream out into the lake and River. Water Works will be pulling docks around Lake Onalaska this week, and will be looking for water lettuce plants as they remove the docks. Brennan Marine will also be looking in areas of the River they will be working. With no plants finally reported for one day, I will decrease the frequency of this list into approximately weekly updates for awhile unless there is urgent news. --Fritz Funk Event Summary on Lake District Web Page: http://www.lakeonalaska.org/invasive_species.html Attachments: Tuesday.jpg 24.3 KB
